Italian Herb Dipping Sauce

I’ve been working on perfecting an artisan bread recipe and this time around needed something extra delicious to dip it in.

I’m currently visiting my parents, and my mom, her friend, and I had an impromptu glass of wine after work one day, conveniently as I was working on my bread recipe.  I knew the bread would be a perfect little appetizer; I love going to Italian restaurants and getting a basket of warm bread.  I wanted to make a dipping sauce that would be a little more interesting than just olive oil and pepper (don’t get me wrong, I love the simplicity of that, too!).  So I decided to throw together some of favorite Italian flavors and the result was delizioso!

This Italian Herb Dipping Oil is so easy and quick!  Add the ingredients to a bowl, whisk it up, and voila!  It’s so forgiving, too, adjust the ingredients to your liking without any change on the yummy scale.

I had a few minutes before my wine drinking partners arrived, so the herbs and spices were able to meld into the olive oil.  I’d recommend letting it sit for 10-15 minutes before serving as it does make the dip extra flavorful.
